This Unocal location is known as the Santan Terminal. The Semangkok community was evicted from this area when Unocal arrived in 1972.


Unocal'swaste disposal pipes leading to the Rapaklama shore. The length of the pipes from the Santan Terminal to the shore is 3 kilometers. The length of the pipes to the ocean is 1.7 kilometers which before was only 100 meters to the ocean.


417.5 hectares of community's rice fields contaminated in 1998. Rice
has been replanted in this area but the plants usually die within a week of planting.
